Track Training Facilities
The ELR boasts a 12 mile long mainline, together with many miles of sidings available to train track workers. We also have three stillages with different types of rail that can be worked on independently from the active rails.

While many know us for our heritage operations, it’s less widely recognised that ELR is a registered charity. Maintaining and developing our infrastructure, rolling stock, and facilities requires ongoing investment—often beyond the scope of ticket sales and commercial activity alone. That’s why support from industry partners makes a meaningful difference.
